Best Virtual Assistant Companies of 2026, Compared

Twelve virtual assistant companies compared on what their own pricing pages say — dedicated offshore plans from $6/hour to US-based fractional support at $36–$65/hour — with trial and replacement terms side by side.

Fig.Comparison scorecard of the best virtual assistant companies of 2026 — twelve vendors ranked on published pricing and terms

Most "best virtual assistant companies" lists are written for the companies, not for you: a logo, a line of praise, and no price. This one is built from each vendor's own pricing page, fetched on 13 October 2026, so every dollar figure below is what the company prints, not what a reviewer remembers. Where a company publishes no price, we say so. Where a figure is arithmetic on a published price, we label it "calculated".

We also sort the market the way a buyer actually experiences it. A US-based assistant billed in 10-hour blocks at $39 an hour and a dedicated full-time assistant in India at $6 an hour are not competing products — they solve different problems, and comparing their hourly rates in one column is how people end up with the wrong hire. So the twelve companies here sit in two bands: dedicated offshore and nearshore staffing, and US-based fractional support.

Pricing disclaimer. Every third-party price, plan, hour count, fee, trial and replacement term in this article was taken from the named company’s own public website on 13 October 2026 and is reproduced for comparison only. Vendors change their pricing at any time and without notice, several serve their pricing pages on URLs search engines are told not to index, and some pages print more than one figure; the numbers below may therefore be out of date by the time you read them. They are not quotes, offers or guarantees, and Zedtreeo has no affiliation with, and receives no payment from, any company listed. Figures marked “calculated” are our arithmetic on a published price, not the vendor’s own number. Always confirm current pricing and terms directly with the vendor before you buy. Company names and marks belong to their respective owners. If you represent a company listed here and a figure is inaccurate, email contact@zedtreeo.com with the page that shows the current price and we will correct it promptly.

Benchmark note: to check any virtual assistant quote against a fully published rate card, Zedtreeo's 2026 Offshore Staffing Rate Index lists the all-inclusive bill rate for 70 remote roles beside the US BLS median wage — no form, CSV download, CC BY 4.0.

How We Evaluated These Virtual Assistant Companies

Method. Thirteen candidate companies were shortlisted from the vendors buyers compare most often in search (Belay, Time etc, MyOutDesk and Prialto all draw hundreds of brand searches a month). For each one we fetched the pricing, how-it-works and about pages on 13 October 2026 and recorded only what the vendor states: engagement model, where the assistants are based, every published price with its unit, trial and replacement terms, and who manages the assistant day to day. No third-party review site was used for any figure. One candidate, Fancy Hands, was dropped because its core product is a pool of 20-minute requests rather than an assistant, and its dedicated tier shows no price. Rankings weight published-price transparency, the strength of the trial and replacement terms, the cost at the hours a small business actually uses, and fit for a US small or mid-sized business.

Three vendors (Magic, MyOutDesk and Zirtual's legal lines) serve their pricing on pages marked noindex, which means the figures can change without showing up in search — re-check them before you sign. Prices in this article are correct as of the fetch date and will drift.

Ranks 1–8 are the dedicated offshore and nearshore band; ranks 9–12 are the US-based fractional band. Within each band the order reflects price transparency, trial and replacement terms, and cost at the hours a small business uses — not who has the biggest brand.

What Makes a Virtual Assistant Company Worth Hiring?

Five things separate a virtual assistant company you can budget around from one you will be renegotiating with in ninety days. Check all five before you look at a single price.

Dedicated Assistant or Task Pool?

A dedicated assistant learns your tools, your clients and your preferences; a task pool gives you a different stranger every time. Every company in this list sells a dedicated person, which is why Fancy Hands — three to fifteen 20-minute requests a month from a rotating pool — did not make it. If your need is genuinely sporadic, a marketplace or a pool is cheaper; our comparison of remote staffing and VA marketplaces walks through when each one wins.

Where the Assistants Are Based, and What That Costs

Geography is the single biggest price driver. US-based companies in this list print $36–$39 an hour (Time etc) and work out to about $65 an hour (Boldly, calculated from $2,600 for 40 hours). Dedicated offshore and nearshore assistants run from $6 an hour at Zedtreeo to roughly $29 an hour at Prialto (calculated from $1,600 per 55-hour unit). Neither band is "right"; they buy different things — same-time-zone, same-culture support versus full-time capacity at a fraction of a salary. Decide which you are buying first.

A Published Price You Can Budget Around

Nine of the twelve companies publish a price. Three do not: Belay, 20four7VA (an illustrative example only) and, for anything beyond a general VA, Wing, whose rate "varies by role, experience, and location". A missing price is not disqualifying, but it means a sales call before you know whether the company is in your range. Our virtual assistant pricing guide gives the market ranges by region if you want a benchmark before that call.

Who Actually Manages the Assistant

"Managed" means different things. Wing says its assistants are "supervised by both Wing's Team Captains and Supervisors" and that "you don't manage people"; Virtual Latinos says the opposite — "you manage your assistant directly, with optional support from us". Zedtreeo sits in between: the client directs the work, while a dedicated account manager owns onboarding, performance tracking and any issue. None of these is wrong, but the one you pick should match how much time you have to supervise.

Trial and Replacement Terms, in Writing

Trial terms range from a free first task (Time etc) to a five-day risk-free trial (Zedtreeo) to nothing stated at all (seven of the twelve). Replacement terms range from "within 24 hours" (Wing) to a 30-day window (Pearl Talent) to a 90-day minimum commitment plus a $250 setup fee before you can walk away (Prialto). Read these before you read the price; they decide what a bad match costs you.

The 12 Best Virtual Assistant Companies in 2026 (Ranked)

Prices are quoted as each company prints them on its own site as of 13 October 2026. Hourly figures marked "calculated" are arithmetic on the published monthly or weekly price and are not the vendor's own number.

1. Zedtreeo — Best for Affordable Dedicated Full-Time VAs

Zedtreeo places dedicated full-time virtual assistants from India with US small and mid-sized businesses under what it calls fully managed employment: the assistant is a Zedtreeo employee, you direct the work, and a dedicated account manager handles onboarding, performance tracking and any issue. The published rate is $6 an hour, $1,056 a month for a 176-hour month, with mid-skill operations and finance roles at $6–$8 an hour and technical roles at $8–$10. The pricing page also publishes the margin — roughly 20–25% of the bill — which no other company on this list does.

Terms are the strongest in the set: a 5-day risk-free trial, no long-term contract, replacement within 48 hours at no additional cost, and month-to-month engagement you can pause with 15 days' notice. Shortlists of two to three pre-vetted candidates arrive within 48 hours. The operating company is ISO 27001:2022 certified, which matters if the assistant will touch client data.

Not the right fit if you want an assistant for a few sporadic hours a month, or you need someone in your office in a US time zone — this is a full-time, India-based hire, and the price reflects exactly that.

2. Wing — Best for Supervised General VAs on a Month-to-Month Plan

Wing sells a dedicated general virtual assistant on a subscription: $699 a month for 80 hours part-time or $999 a month for 160 hours full-time, month-to-month with no long-term commitment. Assistants are "based all over the world" across 20-plus countries, including India, with a US-based option priced separately — Wing says pricing "varies by role, experience, and location", so treat the $999 as the general-VA price, not the US one. At the full-time plan that works out to about $6.24 an hour (calculated).

The distinguishing claim is supervision: assistants are "supervised by both Wing's Team Captains and Supervisors", and Wing replaces an assistant within 24 hours at no extra cost. There is no free trial stated. Wing itself says it is not a fit if you "only need one-off or short-term task support" or "are primarily looking for the lowest-cost labor option".

3. MyOutDesk — Best for Real Estate and Regulated Industries

MyOutDesk, founded in 2008 in Sacramento with roots in real estate, builds every placement as full-time only. Two tiers are published: Managed Outsourcing "starting at $1,988/mo" and Specialized Outsourcing "starting at $2,500/mo", the latter adding HIPAA and PCI-DSS readiness and a dedicated success manager. Assistants are based in the Philippines, Latin America and Africa; every plan includes workforce monitoring, productivity tracking and a 90-day launch plan.

There is no part-time option and no free trial stated; the guarantee is a rematch at no extra cost if the fit is wrong. Note that the pricing page is served as noindex, so confirm the figures before you sign. This is the pick if you are in healthcare, insurance or mortgage and need the compliance paperwork done for you.

4. Virtual Latinos — Best for Bilingual, US-Time-Zone Assistants

Virtual Latinos places assistants from Latin America who work in US time zones and speak English, Spanish or Portuguese. Pricing is published as a starting price of $1.6K a month, all-inclusive with no recruitment, access or setup fees, and tiered by experience: Starter $1.6K–$2.9K, Professional $1.7K–$3.4K, Advanced $2.1K–$4.4K a month. Hours per month are not printed, so confirm the engagement size before comparing it with full-time offers.

This is explicitly a client-managed model — "you manage your assistant directly, with optional support from us when needed" — with the agency handling sourcing, payroll and retention. The replacement guarantee is stated with "conditions apply", and no free trial is listed. Choose it when same-time-zone overlap and Spanish-language work matter more than the lowest monthly cost.

5. Magic — Best for Executives Who Want a 24/7 Backup Pool

Magic, launched in 2015 out of the NASA Ames Research Center, prices a dedicated assistant by the week: $270 a week for 20 hours or $540 a week for 40 hours, billed every four weeks, with no contracts and the ability to cancel any time. Both come to about $13.50 an hour (calculated), or roughly $2,340 a month for full-time. The full-time plan includes "Magic 24/7", an on-demand pool that backs the dedicated assistant outside their hours.

Two caveats. Magic does not state where its assistants are based anywhere on its own site, and its pricing page is served as noindex, so re-check before you commit. There is no free trial; you pay nothing until the assistant starts, and replacements are handled on request.

6. Prialto — Best for Sales Teams and Executive Cohorts

Prialto, founded in 2009 and based in Portland, Oregon, sells assistants in 55-hour "units" at $1,500–$1,600 a month — the pricing page prints both figures — with a full-time dedicated assistant at three or more units "starting at $3,600 a month". Each unit works out to roughly $29 an hour (calculated). Assistants work from service centres in Guatemala City, Manila and Nairobi during US and UK business hours, each with a trained backup and an engagement manager who designs processes and coaches delegation.

The commitment is the heaviest in the set: a 90-day minimum per unit plus a $250 setup fee in the first month, waived only on a one-year agreement, and no trial or refund guarantee stated. It is built for sales teams and enterprise cohorts rather than a single founder, and the SOC 2 Type 2 certification reflects that.

7. Pearl Talent — Best for Funded Startups Hiring Senior Support

Pearl Talent sources from the Philippines, Latin America and South Africa and prices its managed service "from $3,000/mo", with the rate varying by role and seniority and a call required for a quote — the highest offshore entry price on this list. Payroll, offers and agreements are "fully done for you", first hires land in four to seven days, and the service includes 30-60-90 check-ins and client coaching on delegation.

The replacement guarantee reads "30 Day Replacement Guarantee" in the FAQ, while the comparison table on the same page says "free, unlimited" — ask which applies before signing. No free trial is stated. Pearl's audience is founders with funding who want senior assistants, designers and ops hires through one vendor, not a $1,000-a-month VA.

8. 20four7VA — Best for E-commerce Stores on a Weekly Budget

20four7VA, co-founded in 2013 and licensed in Maryland, places dedicated part-time, full-time or seasonal assistants — as contractors, billed weekly by hours worked — with its largest talent pool in the Philippines. It publishes no rate card; the only figure on its site is an illustrative $866.67 total staffing cost for an entry-level administrative VA working 40 hours a week, which it footnotes as an example. The FAQ says the hourly rate falls as weekly hours rise, that billing runs weekly via PayPal with a one-week deposit, and that there is a seven-day cancellation notice.

Test tasks under 30 minutes are free, and a replacement candidate is promised within 24 hours if an assistant resigns. The lead service is e-commerce, with an account manager for the life of the engagement and an optional monitoring service. It ranks last in its band because a contractor arrangement with an unpublished rate is harder to budget and to put through a compliance review than an employed assistant with a printed price.

9. Time etc — Best for Solo Founders Needing a Few US Hours a Week

Time etc has placed 100%-US-based assistants since 2007 and publishes the cleanest fractional pricing in the US band: 10 hours for $390 a month ($39 an hour), 20 for $760 ($38), 40 for $1,480 ($37), 60 for $2,160 ($36). There is no setup fee, unused hours roll over on the 20-hour plan and above, and you can switch plans or cancel any time with no notice period. Assistants average 12 years of experience.

The "free trial" is one free first task rather than a trial period, backed by a lifetime satisfaction guarantee and free assistant changes. Time etc says it is better suited to ongoing assistance than one-off projects, which is the right way to read it: a dependable US executive assistant for a handful of hours a week.

10. Zirtual — Best for Entrepreneurs and Small Law Firms

Zirtual's assistants are college-educated and US-based, on monthly plans by hours and users: Entrepreneur $599 a month for 12 hours, Grow $899 for 20, Small Business $1,199 for 30, Team $1,699 for 45. That is roughly $50 an hour at the entry tier falling to about $38 at the Team plan (calculated). Separate ladders cover outbound calling and, unusually, virtual paralegals (from $649 a month for 10 hours) and virtual legal assistants (from $549 for 10 hours) for US law firms.

There is no setup fee, but also no hour rollover and no proration of unused hours; cancellation takes effect the following month. No free trial is stated; you can request a different assistant at any time, and Zirtual promises two-hour response times during your business hours. Its "Fully Managed Talent" line means Zirtual hires, vets and manages the professional, with delegation strategists on call.

11. Boldly — Best for Executives Who Want Employed, Senior US Staff

Boldly, founded in 2012 and headquartered in New York, is "premium subscription staffing": your assistant is Boldly's W-2 employee, based in North America or Europe, with 10–15 years of experience. Plans are $2,600 a month for 40 hours, $3,900 for 60, $5,200 for 80 and $6,500 for 100, a 40-hour monthly minimum per assistant, specialist work at $79 an hour, and a 2.9% fee if you pay by card. Every tier works out to $65 an hour (calculated).

The terms are generous for the price: you meet your staff before paying, a trained backup covers vacations and sickness, and a lifetime satisfaction guarantee refunds the month if you are not satisfied. Two things to confirm: the pricing page's metadata dates from January 2024, and New York State has its own pricing page. Boldly's own about page says it is moving towards larger companies, so smaller buyers should expect enterprise framing.

12. Belay — Best for Faith-Based and Coaching Organizations Wanting a US EA

Belay has matched US-based executive assistants and accounting staff since 2010 and claims a 93% first-match success rate from the "top 3%" of vetted talent, with matches "in as little as one week" and a Right-Fit Guarantee that rematches at no additional cost. Its industry pages lean into churches, coaching, real estate and healthcare, and it adds bookkeeping, fractional CFO and payroll services alongside assistants.

It ranks last because Belay publishes no price at all — its pricing page currently returns a 404 — and the only dollar figure on its domain is an industry range of "$20 to $75 per hour" on a blog post, which is not Belay's rate. There is no long-term contract and no free trial stated, and non-US clients face additional requirements. Budget for a sales call before you know whether it fits your range.

How to Choose the Right Virtual Assistant Company for Your Business

Match the Model to the Job, Not the Brand

If the work is continuous — inbox, calendar, CRM, order processing, bookkeeping support — a dedicated full-time assistant costs less per hour and compounds in value as they learn your business. If the work is a few hours of executive support a week in your own time zone, a fractional US plan is the honest answer, and Time etc or Zirtual will cost you less than a full-time hire you only half use. Our guide to virtual assistants versus executive assistants covers the case where what you actually need is an EA.

Compare Total Monthly Cost at the Hours You Will Really Use

Hourly rates mislead across bands. A 40-hour-a-month plan at $37 an hour (Time etc) is $1,480; a 176-hour month at $6 an hour (Zedtreeo) is $1,056. The second buys four times the hours for less money — but only if you have four times the work. Run your real weekly hours through the VA versus employee cost calculator before you compare vendors, and compare monthly totals, not rates.

Weigh Time-Zone Overlap Honestly

Nearshore (Virtual Latinos, Prialto's Guatemala centre) and US-based companies sell same-hours availability; India-based assistants typically work a shifted schedule that overlaps your morning or evening, so confirm the hours you need before you sign. If you need someone answering in real time all day, pay for the overlap. If you need work done by the time you log on, you do not.

Read the Replacement and Exit Terms Before the Price

Count the days you are locked in. Zedtreeo, Wing, Time etc, Magic and Zirtual are month-to-month; Prialto requires 90 days per unit plus a setup fee; Pearl Talent's replacement window is 30 days; Boldly requires a 40-hour minimum but refunds a bad month. A cheap plan with a 90-day lock-in costs more than a dearer one you can leave next month if the match fails.

Virtual Assistant Company Costs: What You'll Actually Pay in 2026

Reminder: the figures in this table are as published by each vendor on 13 October 2026, reproduced for comparison only and subject to change without notice; “calculated” rates are our arithmetic, not the vendor’s quote. Confirm current pricing with the vendor before you buy.

The table below puts the published prices on one footing: the monthly cost of the plan closest to full-time where one exists, and the printed or calculated hourly rate. Figures are from each vendor's own site on 13 October 2026.

Hidden Costs to Watch For

Card-processing surcharges (Boldly adds 2.9%), setup fees that only disappear on an annual contract (Prialto's $250), unused hours that neither roll over nor prorate (Zirtual), weekly deposits (20four7VA), and "starting at" prices that assume the most junior assistant (Virtual Latinos, MyOutDesk, Pearl Talent). Ask every vendor for the all-in monthly figure for the specific person you are offered.

Why the Offshore Band Costs What It Does

A dedicated assistant from India at $1,056 a month is 70–85% lower than a salaried US hire doing the same work, because the bill rate is set against local salary markets rather than US ones. That is the arbitrage every offshore company on this list sells; the differences between them are how much of the bill goes to the assistant, how the person is employed, and what happens when a match fails. Zedtreeo publishes its margin and the spread between pay and bill; the others do not, which is the first question worth asking on a sales call.

Common Mistakes When Hiring Through a Virtual Assistant Company

Comparing hourly rates across bands. A $39-an-hour US assistant and a $6-an-hour dedicated assistant are not the same product at different prices; they are different products. Compare monthly cost at your real hours, inside the band that matches your need.

Buying hours you will not use. Fractional plans are priced so that the cheapest tier has the highest hourly rate. If you reliably need 30-plus hours a week, a full-time dedicated plan is cheaper per hour and gives you one person who knows the work.

Treating "managed" as "no management". Even the most supervised models (Wing, Prialto) need you to define the work, set priorities and give feedback. Vendors that say you manage the assistant directly (Virtual Latinos) are being candid, not lazy; budget your own time accordingly.

Signing before reading the exit. Ninety-day minimums, setup fees and no-proration clauses turn a bad match into a four-figure loss. Prefer month-to-month terms and a written replacement policy, and prefer a real trial period over a free first task.

Trusting a price you did not see on the vendor's site. Three companies here publish none, and three serve their pricing on pages search engines are told to ignore. Fetch the page yourself on the day you decide; this article's figures are dated for exactly that reason.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best virtual assistant company in 2026?

For a dedicated full-time assistant at the lowest published price with a real trial, Zedtreeo ($6 an hour, $1,056 a month, 5-day risk-free trial) ranks first in this comparison. For a US-based assistant for a few hours a week, Time etc publishes the clearest fractional pricing, from $390 a month for 10 hours. "Best" depends on which of those two products you are buying.

How much do virtual assistant companies charge?

Published prices on 13 October 2026 range from $6 an hour (Zedtreeo, dedicated full-time, India) to $36–$39 an hour (Time etc, US-based) and about $65 an hour calculated (Boldly, North America and Europe). Full-time offshore plans start at $999–$1,056 a month and run to $3,000–$3,600 a month at Pearl Talent and Prialto. Three companies — Belay, 20four7VA and Wing for non-general roles — do not publish a rate.

Is a dedicated virtual assistant better than a task-based service?

For continuous work, yes: a dedicated assistant learns your systems and clients and gets faster every month, which a rotating pool never does. Task-based services such as Fancy Hands suit genuinely sporadic 20-minute jobs. Every company in this list sells a dedicated person.

Should I hire a US-based or offshore virtual assistant?

Hire US-based when you need real-time, same-culture support for a few hours a week and can pay $36–$65 an hour for it. Hire offshore or nearshore when you need full-time capacity and can define the work clearly; dedicated assistants from India cost 70–85% less than a salaried US hire, and nearshore options such as Virtual Latinos trade some of that saving for US-hours overlap.

What should a virtual assistant company's replacement guarantee look like?

Written, fast and unlimited. The strongest terms in this comparison are Wing's replacement within 24 hours and Zedtreeo's within 48 hours at no cost with no expiry; the weakest are a 30-day window (Pearl Talent) or a 90-day minimum before you can leave at all (Prialto). Ask for the policy in the contract, not on a sales call.

Can I get a full-time virtual assistant for under $1,500 a month?

Yes, from two companies with published prices: Zedtreeo at $1,056 a month for a 176-hour month and Wing at $999 a month for a 160-hour general VA. Magic's full-time plan is $540 a week, which is roughly $2,340 a month, and Virtual Latinos starts at $1.6K without printing the hours.

How quickly can a virtual assistant company place someone?

Published lead times run from 48 hours for a shortlist (Zedtreeo, Wing's "live in 48 hours") to four to seven days (Pearl Talent), "as little as one week" (Belay, MyOutDesk) and three to five days to begin onboarding (Prialto). Count the onboarding period too: Prialto trains assistants for a month, and Zedtreeo's trial runs five working days before you commit.

Are virtual assistant companies worth it for a small business?

They are worth it when the work is recurring enough to fill the hours you buy. A small business paying $1,056 a month — $12,672 a year — for a full-time dedicated assistant is paying 73% less than the $47,540 US median salary for an administrative assistant (BLS, SOC 43-6014), before benefits and overhead; one paying $390 a month for 10 US-based hours buys back a founder's week. The mistake is buying one product when you need the other, which is why this comparison keeps the two bands apart.

Final Verdict — Which Virtual Assistant Company Should You Choose?

If you need a dedicated full-time assistant and want the price, trial and replacement terms in writing before a sales call, start with Zedtreeo: $6 an hour, $1,056 a month, a 5-day risk-free trial and a 48-hour replacement, from an ISO 27001:2022-certified operator. Wing is the closest published alternative if you want heavier day-to-day supervision from the vendor. If what you actually need is a US-based executive assistant for part of the week, Time etc and Zirtual publish the plans to budget around, and Boldly is the premium, employed version of the same idea. Whatever you pick, fetch the pricing page yourself on the day you decide — three of these twelve do not publish one, and three more serve theirs on pages built to change.

Sources. All vendor figures were fetched from each company's own pricing, how-it-works and about pages on 13 October 2026: Zedtreeo pricing; Wing pricing; MyOutDesk pricing; Virtual Latinos pricing and tiers; Magic pricing; Prialto pricing; Pearl Talent pricing; 20four7VA cost example and FAQ; Time etc pricing; Zirtual plans; Boldly pricing; Belay assistant services (pricing page returned 404 on the fetch date). Prices change; verify before you buy.
